Former IPS officer Ajit Doval was appointed as the National Security Advisor for a third time, as per a government order issued on Thursday.
The Cabinet Appointments Committee’s order stated that Doval’s appointment is co-terminus with the term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
His third term came into effect from June 10. During the term of his office, Doval will be assigned the rank of Cabinet Minister in the Table of Precedence, as per the order, and the terms and conditions of his appointment will be notified separately.
Meanwhile, the Appointments Committee also approved the appointment of retired IAS officer PK Mishra as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister. His appointment will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or until further orders whichever is earlier.
